Job Description:
The Department of Biostatistics at the Boston University School
of Public Health invites applications for multiple faculty
positions with start dates expected to be in Summer 2025.
Outstanding candidates at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, Full)
are encouraged to apply. We are looking for candidates who will
lead innovative biostatistical scholarship, work collaboratively
with biomedical researchers, and teach courses in our graduate
degree programs. We welcome applicants with expertise in all areas
of biostatistics but are particularly interested in those with
demonstrated expertise in clinical trials, machine learning, and
big data analytics, including methods related to high-dimensional
data, and electronic health records.

Department of Biostatistics is comprised of approximately 30
faculty, who are internationally recognized for their innovation in
research and scholarship in a diverse range of areas of
biostatistics including statistical genetics, clinical trials,
surveillance, longitudinal studies, Bayesian statistics and risk
prediction. Additionally, biostatistics faculty play leading roles
in several large observational studies such as the renowned
Framingham Heart Study, the Million Veterans Project and the Risk
Evaluation & Education for Alzheimer's Disease study. They actively
collaborate with researchers at Boston Medical Center, New
England's largest safety net hospital, with a mission to serve
underserved populations.The department has large and successful
graduate programs, including a PhD and MS in Biostatistics, an MS
in Applied Biostatistics, as well as one of the oldest Summer
Institute in Biostatistics (SIBS) programs, a pipeline program for
undergraduates, in the United States.Required SkillsCandidates
should hold a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, data
science, or a closely related field of study. Successful applicants
should have a demonstrated research record for their career stage,
interest and ability in teaching, excellent oral and written
communication skills, and a strong desire to work in a team
setting. Specifically, candidates should demonstrate a commitment
to conducting rigorous, high-level research, including the
production of scholarly publications; have a track record for, or
show the potential to receive external funding; and have a
commitment to upholding the missions of the Boston University
School of Public Health and the Department of
